My Anus Is Bleeding!
Dec. 21st, 2006 | 08:12 pm
i became Theta Gamma's president!
marcos and i did go on a break but we got back on December 7th (our 2 year anniversary). We're amazing and better than ever! I really can't live w/o him. All through the break we were still going out on our lunch dates and communicating so that was fun. lol
december 7th was a remarkable day as well, not only because it was marcos' and i 2 yrs, but i got installed as President of Phi Mu @ FIU!!
i got the president's quatrefoil which is gold and full of diamond bling. that night, marcos also gave me a blinged out diamond circle necklace. it was gorgeous.
and i like combining dates so maybe i can plan for my wedding on december 7th as well as the kids. lol. (i'm not good at remembering dates, so if they all fall along the same time, i'm great) lol
i'm done with christmas shopping! and i'm excited!
oh! and my best friend graduated on tuesday and i am oh-so-proud of her!! i cried when she got her diploma. we've been together forever and we're never going to stop! we've followed eachother through everything in life from the same elementary school, middle school, high school, and college! she knows i gotta stick around for the whole president thing but she said in dec 2007 she'll be there crying for me too! lol. i am so proud of her! i can't even put it into words!
for those of you who don't know, i am a full-time substitute for my alma mater Conchita Espinosa Academy. I've gotten respect from all the teachers and the students <~~ which really matter! i love going down the hallway and hearing "Hi Miss Gonzalez!" it further intensifies my passion for education. When I'm substituting for teachers, and I'm teaching the students thier lesson plan for the day i get a rush. I love being up on the board and answering questions. I love to see thier minds working when i ask them difficult questions.
things are going amazingly. i have a busy year ahead of me but i feel prepared. i have never felt so prepared in my life. i've wanted this presidency ever since I was a Phi! i am so excited to make this chapter work to its full potential.
deep breath....and i'm done lol
bye bye

Is it the end of an era?
Is it the start of a new one?
You can't prevent the unpredictable.
this is a time in my life where everything is falling apart and at the same time coming together.
of course i still enjoy the company. but it's not the same anymore.
can't wait for the retreat!
can't wait for christmas break!

James Noel's body was found today around 1:30pm. If you see a TKE please give them the support that they need. I can't imagine losing one of my sisters and can't even concur what they are going through at this time.

what's wrong with me?
Sep. 27th, 2006 | 02:18 am
so i've turned into an insomniac for some reason. i'll hop into bed around 11pm. and then i'll hop back out. yes, i have ALOT of work to do and i'm super behind but my problem is that I can't go sleep till around 3 am. The bad part: I can't (for anything, not even my mom screaming at me) get up until 12:30/1pm. This is ridiculous to me. I've been suffering with this for a week now and I'm actually pulling an all nighter tonight, not because I want to but because I have a 9:30 class and I have the biggest fear that I am going to miss it again. So I'm staying up so that I don't have to worry about getting up in the morning.
doesn't that sound inhumane?? Is there someone that knows how i can get my body to start going to sleep around 11/11:30 pm?????
ANYONE OUT THERE???

You and your guy seem to have stuck the perfect power balance.
It's not that you don't disagree - it's just that you've learned how to compromise well.
You're both mature enough to know that you can't always get your way...
And usually, you're both adult enough to reach an agreement - even if that sometimes means giving in a little.</font></td></tr></table><div align="center"><a href="http://ynr.blogthings.com/whowearsthepan

Miami Herald, The (FL)
| August 22, 2006 Section: Metro & State Edition: Final Page: 6B DAVID OVALLE, dovalle@MiamiHerald.com A fatal weekend shooting at the home of the son of a Miami police major was a ``tragic accident,'' authorities said Monday. Alejandro Fernandez, 21, died after he was accidentally shot late Friday at the home of Erik Jason Martinez, 21, the son of Miami Maj. Hector Martinez and attorney Mayra Trinchet. |
| The legally purchased handgun belonged to Erik Martinez. The shooter was a young man in his 20s named Andres Gonzalez, police said.
All were friends from La Salle High in Miami. ``The guy didn't know it was loaded, and it went off,'' Miami Detective Frankie Sanchez said. ``They were all really close, just a group of guys who had been friends for years.'' Prosecutors and detectives have been meeting to decide if any charges are necessary. Fernandez would have started classes at Florida International University on Monday. Instead, his family buried him. Services for Fernandez were held at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Southwest Miami-Dade County. He was buried at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Doral. Hundreds of people attended, including his 23-year-old sister and 8-year-old brother. ``The family is moved by the countless expressions of heartfelt condolences that have poured in the last couple days and appreciative of all those who are keeping Alex in their prayers,'' said Fernandez's cousin Javier Alberto Soto, the chief of staff for former Miami-Dade Mayor Alex Penelas. Fernandez attended La Salle and Miami Dade College, and would have begun sports medicine classes at FIU this week, his family said. He was a rabid University of Miami football fan. According to Miami police, the group of friends was readying to party Friday night at Erik Martinez's home in the 1700 block of Southwest 12th Avenue. Martinez, whose parents are divorced, lives there with his mother. His father, Hector Martinez, who oversees the Miami Police Department's personnel bureau, does not live at the house. Erik Martinez was showing off his handgun to friends, who were loading and unloading it. He normally keeps the gun locked in a safe, police said. Hector Martinez was unavailable for comment, and Trinchet could not be reached. ``It's such a tragedy. It's a terrible formula when you put kids together with guns,'' said Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernández Rundle. At least three young people in Miami-Dade this year - Edwin Garcia, 17, Alejandro Echezabal, 16, and Jose Corea, 15 - have died accidentally from gunshots. |

R.I.P. Alex. You will be incredibly missed.

life is coming around...
Aug. 14th, 2006 | 04:05 pm
so marky and i are looking at real estate in miami and north carolina.
i've always wanted to live in north carolina and i'm still trying to coax him into it. there's just a couple of issues he needs to work out about moving far from miami and we're good. lol.
life is moving along splendidly. stressful as crap with all this recruitment stuff. but it's moving along
i'm trying to this new thing to just breathe..stretch...shake...let it go. bcuz it doesn't matter what i do for some people, they will always talk shit, they will always try to taint my name...to those people: YOU CAN'T BRING ME DOWN BITCHES. I'M STRONGER THAN YOU WILL EVER BE.
went to my neighbor/life long friend's wedding the other day. everyone around us was like, so when are you going to ask her marcos?? lol.
here's the thing, i don't want to have one of those engagements that last forever (no offense). Once he proposes, i want to go to the church, take our 6 month classes in order to get married in the catholic church. lease the apartment, fill it with furniture. plan the honeymoon. and in 1 yr. married, on the cruise, when we get back, we come back to the apartment...not my parents house lol.
AND i want to be graduated with a job. so no engagement for at least a year. lol. sorry people! patience IS a virtue.
other than that, i got alot of new clothes at macy's yesterday. 3 bags full. i'm good for the next 2 weeks HAHA J/K.
i got myself a michael kors shirt that i will now wear everytime i watch project runway. so i'm excited because this one actually has his initials in the front the other ones i have are just dress shirts. lol. so now i have an official project runway shirt!
yay

true heartbreak
Aug. 1st, 2006 | 04:34 pm
To My Friends,
One thing that I have learned for sure, is that nothing is more rewarding than learning. From learning problem solving math equations and historical events, to learning how to fish, to learning how to sell insurance, the actual process of learning is better than having all the money and any materials in this world. I have learned that I know nothing about love. I used to think that love was staying on the phone until she fell asleep, or ironing her hair. I used to think it was about companionship, such as accompanying her to the vet because her dogs were sick. I thought it was about being a hero. Going to her house at 11:00pm after having taken a bath to lift up her Doberman that was stuck behind the AC unit, or picking her up when walking across wet grass so that her feet don’t get wet, or letting her cling on to you when she’s scared in a movie or scared at the beach because she felt something icky. I used to think it was selflessness, such as taking pictures or dancing, neither of which I like to do. Or buying her DDR equipment although you hate the game. I used to think that it was about being supportive. Like going with her to see her dad for the first time in five years, and putting up curtains for her grandparents, and helping them move. I thought it was about getting tattoos together for a 6-year anniversary. It was probably her constant laughter and happiness that made me think I knew what love was. Maybe I was too egotistical. So although I don’t know what love is, I know for sure that I do not know what it is. It is not buying her flowers just because, or installing a mailbox at her mother’s house. Nor is letting her pop your pimples, or crushing ice in your mouth for a cold kiss. It is not going to the mall just to buy granizados. It’s not awakening her with a warm rub/massage on her entire body. Some of you may think this will work, but you are wrong. You could even be the one she calls when she calls crying from work, or write her emails sharing your appreciation for her because you had an elderly woman crying in your office that her husband of over 40 years passed away, and you felt the same love for her that that elderly woman felt for her companion. Love is not about donating a large sum of money to her favorite charitable foundation to cure a disease that haunts her every breathing moment. Love is not about complements, and telling her that she rocks your world. Don’t bother washing her car, and changing her oil. Also, installing a “Princess” plate on it will only add insult to injury. Don’t help her patch up the wall inside her AC closet the night before the AC guy is going to install a new unit, and do not let her use your toothbrush when she forgot hers. Do not repeat your story of how the two of you met over and over again to everyone you know because you will look like an idiot in the end. Do not cry with her at a New Year’s party in Clearwater, she will stain your shirt with her makeup. If she tells you to help her remove the old brackets from her closet, or to hang up frames for her and her mom, or remove a shower head piece from her childhood, just say no. If you stop doing your homework in high school, to help her with her math and history, you will not be her hero. It is better to get some sleep, than to take her to Kinko’s to do a resume project. Do not put in a sink for her mom, especially if you’re some 17 year-old-punk. If she’s never seen snow, don’t be the first one to take her to see it. Snow is not a big deal anyway; it snows in Miami all the time. If she’s never been on a plane before, that’s too damn bad, don’t put her on one. Paying for her manicures and pedicures is just as useless as buying her those damn flowers. If you pay for dinner for all her friends on the day of her birthday, you will not get that money back. If you help her with a car payment, or help her buying a laptop, you won’t get that back either. I say this because it’s been done, and I could tell you that it is not love. She’s probably bullshitting you when she tells you that you would be a great father. If she’s having trouble with her college classes, run the other way. Do not take her to her favorite theme park, especially if you hate taking pictures with EVERY character in the park. Contrary to popular belief, showering separately saves water. She may think its romantic, but remember me, take turns. Cruises, trips to Orlando, Sanibel, or the Keys, or plane rides to Mexico or New York are useless. Take my advice if you want to. But if you’re only going to listen to one piece of my advice, then do not, whatever you do, DO NOT express yourself to her in a poem so beautiful that it makes her cry. If you want to express yourself, go to Photobucket and pick out a catchy phrase and send it to her when you have no time in your hands. That is what her true friends do. It saves you the time of writing poetry. The reason I say not to do these things is because at the end of the day, or year, or decade, she reserves the right not to appreciate any of the things you have done for her. She can look you straight in the eye and say that she does not like the way you treat her. She also reserves the right keep track of the negative, and make it seem that the negative outweighs the positive. She will disregard the idea of sitting down with you to share her feelings, and instead go talk to her loser friends that lack and want what she has. The same naivety and innocence that you liked about her will blind her from unconscious envy that others will inject into her life. She will take advice from the very people that are not as mature and intelligent as her; people that do not have the selfless hero that is also funny and smart; people that do not understand her situation, and that will never know what is like to walk 5 steps in her shoes. I was a fool to believe that the good comes with the bad, and the bad comes with the good. I thought that’s how life was. I thought that relationships were about tears and laughter. Apparently, that isn’t so. I hope that in my next 23 years, I will double my knowledge and continue to learn. I hope that my answers about love will be answered.
-----
powerful shit, huh. it made me cry for sure! had to share it with all of you.

I FEEL GOOD 'CUZ I'M A PHI MU!
Jul. 17th, 2006 | 09:13 am
Marion- from Berkely...initiated 1933! has gone to every national convention since she was initiated. a math teacher and now she tours the US giving speeches. She was a great woman and we had a great conversation during dinner one night. She got down my address and took a pic of theta gamma and the greater miami alums reps. I can't wait to get a letter from her!!
Buzz- now i'm not sure what chapter she was from but she has been to 22 Conventions! (keep in mind conventions happen every other year). Her pledge sister was Perky which I will tell you about later. She had donated over $75,000 to Phi Mu Foundation, part of the 1852 society, AND the Fidelity Circle!! She was also the funniest out of everyone
Perky- my new Phi Mu idol! Her pledge sister was Buzz and even wore Buzz's wedding dress in her wedding!! She also attends almost every convention with Buzz. She has been to 27 conventions. Donated over $100,000 to Phi Mu Foundation, part of the 1852 society, fidelity society, and she recieved the golden circle! I got her information so I will be writing to her to find out more about her because she was just such an inspiration to me!
Leona- from Sarasota. She has been to exactly 31 conventions and has given OVER A MILLION dollars toward the Phi Mu Foundation. she's part of the 1852 society, and fidelity society.
This is what I want to live up to one day. I'm already a Foundation Member (giving over $500 so far! go me!) and part of the Sir Fidel Circle. In the next two months I'll be entering the Legacy League and when I get 'old enough' to write my will, I will be putting in some money in there for Phi Mu to become a member of the Fidelity Society. And in 4 years I will be a member of Trestrella within Phi Mu (which btw Eilie, a theta gamma alum, was initiated into Trestrella this week!)
Phi Mu is forever and I'm going to live it up! There are so many wonderful people that I met and witnessed a National Memorial and Initiation Service. It was breath taking!!
I met some great women, had great conversations, and made amazing bonds: Sarah Marks (well we had a connection already, but now we have a better one), Monica Vega (she is Area 1 Chapter Association Director and an alum of Theta Gamma)..AMAZING woman!! I know she'll mentor me into moving up in the Phi Mu world!!, Jennifer Wu--our new national Vice President! she is an amazing woman with an amazing story, Kris Bridges our National NPC delegate, she's great. I look up to her.
I also "invested" some money into raffle tickets and came home with two baskets! lol i won't tell you how much but was definetly guaranteed to win SOMETHING hahha.
The hotel was huge and expensive. Licett and I went out to eat on our "free friday night" to Ristorante Volaire. Yeah, $66.00 later for one plate.... lol we ran home and promised never to eat in a restaurant in a hotel again lol. But then we went to Findleys on our last night to celebrate our week. It was an Irish Pub. They had a live band playing the funniest songs I have ever heard...we just had chips and drinks lol. no food! hahaha
I had a blast!!!
I AM PROUD TO BE A PHI MU!!

fun filled day with a teary end........
Jul. 10th, 2006 | 09:56 am
- So yesterday it was my friend Jeananne's Bridal Shower. It was nice. It was at Rennaisance at the Gables. In the courtyard room. Super sweet. My best friend was like, oh, i want this for mine, and I'm going to do this for yours. She snuck away some of the games in her purse for ideas. lol she's kind of crazy. we're both going to be bridezillas. I know it!
- went to a very special linner (lunch and dinner).
- went with marcos to go see Click (the Adam Sandler movie). Well you know how Jim Carrey did the Truman show and everyone ran to the movie theatre thinking it was this hilarious comedy and turned out to be a very thoughtful, moving drama. Well guess what, this is the same thing. Think Family Man but more emotional, more pressing on the important issues of life. Very moving drama. EVERYONE, man and woman, CRIED in that movie theatre. I would give it 4 thumbs up. Opens your eyes to alot of things. Very detailed in actual screen play and design. I balled! lol. Word to the Wise: don't think your going to see a comedy, although it has Adam Sandlers comedy in it and you do have a couple of laughs, it is essentially a drama with a much bigger message that unfolds as you sit in your chair. I would recommend to all those going to college or working simply for the MONEY and not the LOVE of the career/profession.

I need to be tanned and yes, i get fake tans. It's safer and goes on more evenly. You stand naked in a booth for literally 1 minute and voila! instant beautifiul healthy tan. I don't have to sit out in the beach for hours with the risk of being burned.
woohoo tan paradise, here i come!!!

why? well N. Korea wants help and no one wants to give it to them. Japan has called an emergency UN Secy Council meeting. I don't know how the US will act because although we bombed Japan...twice we were also in Vietnam AGAINST N. Korea. Hopefully, they will send aid to N.Korea, after all they only hit the Sea of Japan, none hit land BUT my dad and I were debating on it yesterday and I'm not sure which side we'll take. I'm sure we'll take Japans side but who knows.
It is provoking BUT not harmful YET. All missles were detected by our satellites once they were launched, that's a good thing. But still ScArY! Because we have a direct security issue that's increasing. Some people were having talks about unilateral vs multilateral. It's obvious we need to turn to multilateral concerns.
After I get out of class, I'm peeled to CNN to see what all these kids are saying about it.
Side note: This is not out of the blue. This situation has been brewing

you know how you want something to happen and then it doesn't and then you substitute it and that becomes the something you wanted and then the original thing you wanted comes back for you and your first instinct is "damn" and then you think of what you have and you're like 'no, what i have now is more amazing then i thought it would be...sorry'

I AM EXTREMELY PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!!!
(got this email from my dad...)
Look at the black patch under the
The patch says "Doing the work of" The flags are France , Germany , and Russia .
This SHOULD be on the front cover of Time, Newsweek, etc.
Let's you and I "put it there" by forwarding this all around the world!
